We are excited to announce that Swiftaid will be helping to collect more for charities through contactless Gift Aid, teaming up with Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal, the Bristol Children’s Hospital Charity.
Established in 1995, Wallace & Gromit’s Grand Appeal has raised over £50 million to support sick babies and children and their families in Bristol Children’s Hospital.
The charity works in partnership with Bristol Children’s Hospital and funds pioneering, life-saving equipment and research, so that patients have access to the best possible healthcare, and provides free accommodation to families of critically ill patients from the Neonatal and Paediatric Intensive Care Units, as well as providing a free family support service for parents and siblings. The charity ensures the hospital is a vibrant and child-friendly place to help distract sick children through music therapy, art and play programmes and much more.
From 2 July until 2 September 2018, 17 out of 67 individually designed Wallace, Gromit and Feathers McGraw sculptures, which collectively form the ‘Gromit Unleashed 2’ arts trail running throughout Bristol and surrounding area, will be equipped with contactless terminals provided to the charity by Creditcall, enabling visitors to donate quickly and conveniently to The Grand Appeal by choosing from three fixed-value contactless options of £2, £5, or £10.
If you are a UK taxpayer and make a donation at any of these contactless donation terminals, you will be able to add Gift Aid to your donation once Swiftaid is enabled for your bank account.
So if you are out and about in Bristol this summer and make a donation using a contactless portal, please leave your email address below, and we’ll notify you as soon as we are able to process the Gift Aid on any donations you make.
What is Swiftaid?
Swiftaid is a service that enables automatic Gift Aid on card donations and tax refunds for Higher Rate Taxpayers. Over the past decade, there has been a shift towards card payments over cash, which has had detrimental effects on the amount charities have been able to collect with donation buckets. The industry is responding by adopting contactless terminals, but currently, there is no seamless way of attaching Gift Aid to these donations and, approximately £575 million goes unclaimed each year. Swiftaid is here to fix this!
