Swiftaid Setup Guide

Follow the steps below to get your charity up and running with Swiftaid. Please also scroll to the bottom of the page to see our fees 👍

1. Assign Swiftaid as a nominee

We need to let HMRC know that Swiftaid will be acting as an intermediary for you and your donors. We can do this with a CHv1 form.

Once the form is completed, please send it to us by email at authorise@swiftaid.co.uk or by post to the following address:

Donation source check

2. Authorise a donation Source

The final step involves authorising Swiftaid to process Gift Aid on specific donations made to your charity. You can do this by filling in a donation source authorisation form (DSA1). We use this to confirm that Swiftaid can:

  • Uniquely identify eligible donations  
  • Know exactly how much Gift Aid can be claimed  
  • Ensure that Gift Aid or GASDS* tax relief isn’t claimed more than once on each donation

Fees

We charge charities a 15% service fee on the Gift Aid we process for them. In return, we take care of the entire Gift Aid process, including claims and reports for HMRC.
